Vision Statementline

We intend to provide a faith foundation for the children and youth of Covenant Presbyterian Church. We believe that a faith foundation consists of

a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ;
a disciplined prayer life;
basic knowledge of the key stories and teachings of the Bible (Old and New Testaments);
basic knowledge of the disputes and decisions from the Church’s history;
basic knowledge of the essential tenets of the Presbyterian – Reformed tradition; and
multiple opportunities to empower the faith of our children and youth by inviting them into active participation in worship and mission, with intentional periods of reflection and celebration.

Other Educational Ministries for Childrenline

Young DisciplesWorship Booklets
Worship booklets provide children with activities that follow and engage them in the flow of worship. We encourage each elementary aged child to use this resource. There will be a large basket in the Narthex where the worship booklets will be kept, please pick one up and drop them off each week. Questions? Please contact Jill Clark or Melissa Douglas.

Children’s Bulletins
This resource is available to children ages 3 – 6 and 7 – 12. This resource follows the lectionary and provides mazes, word puzzles, and other activities to engage children in the lectionary scripture text for the week.

Weekly Worship Page
Each week, a Weekly Worship Page will be available to use as a home resource. Whether family or single this weekly page is meant for our church family to use as a way to prepare our hearts for joining in worship the following week. The daily scripture is helping to prepare your mind for the sermon of the upcoming week. The Weekly Worship Page (WWP) is also available online on the Sermons page.

Acolyte Training and Participation (2nd - 6th grade)
During both services children and youth participate throughout the worship experience by bringing in the communion elements, filling the baptismal font, carrying the Bible, and light the Paschal candle. Contact: Trish Hopkins.

Nursery
Through our love for your children we attempt to show them in word and deed the love of Jesus Christ. Our goal is to make Covenant a warm and inviting place in which your children feel nurtured and cared for. All of our nursery assistants have been thoroughly interviewed, background checked and trained. Your child's care and safety is our greatest concern. Nursery care is provided during services and Sunday School on Sunday mornings, during Mid-Week Ministries on Wednesday evenings, and during many other church-sponsored events. Nursery Attendant Job Description. Letter to Parents. Contact: Carol VonAschen.
